“Reinventing Water” at the Commonwealth Club

For those who missed yesterday’s Commonwealth Club program “Almonds and Lawns” (featuring PPIC’s Ellen Hanak, the State Water Resources Control Board’s Felicia Marcus, California Farm Bureau Federation’s Paul Wenger, and East Bay Municipal Utility District’s Marguerite Young), the public affairs forum will soon host another water-related event entitled “Reinventing Water” as part of its Climate One series, which seeks to foster wide-ranging discussions on environmental, energy, and climate change issues.

For the upcoming event, Anna Michalak of the Carnegie Institution for Science and Abrahm Lustgarten of ProPublica will talk about the food-water-energy nexus and the economic impacts of drought on Tuesday, July 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the David Brower Center at 2150 Allston Way in Berkeley. Following the program, audience members will be invited to engage in breakout group conversations led by the speakers for 20 minutes.
