On Saturday, June 6, the national nonprofit American Hiking Society is promoting National Trails Day, a celebration of the outdoors that features organized hikes, bicycle and horseback rides, paddling trips, bird-watching outings, stewardship efforts, and other coordinated activities across the country.
Numerous National Trails Day events will take place in the Bay Area, including the kick-off to the San Ramon Trails Challenge in Contra Costa County, the Lynch Canyon Trail Run & Community Hike in Solano County, trail maintenance at Almaden Quicksilver County Park in Santa Clara County, and a set of projects organized by the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.
