Open Space Council to Premiere “Here and Now” at Fall Gathering

On Thursday, September 17, the Bay Area Open Space Council will hold its annual Fall Gathering in Berkeley at the David Brower Center’s Goldman Theater from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will showcase the premier of “Here and Now,” a short film about four innovative Bay Area partnerships between land conservation organizations and Native Americans who are applying their ancestors’ knowledge of plants, animals, and elements to modern environmental challenges. The Open Space Council, which produced the film with support from The Christensen Fund, the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, and The Trust for Public Land, promises that it “will open your eyes and change the way you look at the inches and acres of land we are working to protect and steward.”

The screening will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the filmmakers and the film’s participants, after which lunch will be served. Click here to register, or call the Open Space Council at (510) 809-8009 for more information.
