Dialogue Set to Open on Plan Bay Area 2040

The Association of Bay Area Governments and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission will host a series of public open houses for Bay Area residents to learn about Plan Bay Area 2040, an update to the region’s long-range transportation and housing roadmap. Participants will have the chance to view displays and offer comments on long-term regional goals, including:

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from cars and light trucks

Housing the Bay Area’s projected population

Improving public health

Maintaining the Bay Area’s transportation infrastructure

Preserving open space

The displays will also exhibit the plan update’s schedule and key milestones, housing and employment forecast methodology, and information on transportation improvements in the works at the county and regional level.

Open House Schedule:

  • Alameda County – Wednesday, April 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, Palm Pavilion, 4501 Pleasanton Avenue in Pleasanton
  • Contra Costa County – Wednesday, April 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Walnut Creek Marriott, 2355 North Main Street in Walnut Creek
  • San Mateo County – Wednesday, May 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the San Mateo County Event Center Event Pavilion, 1346 Saratoga Drive in San Mateo
  • Santa Clara County – Wednesday, May 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Berryessa Community Center, 3050 Berryessa Road in San Jose
  • Napa County – Thursday, May 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Napa Elks Lodge, 2840 Soscol Avenue in Napa
  • Solano County – Thursday, May 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2200 Gateway Court in Fairfield
  • Sonoma County – Thursday, May 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Friedman Center, 4676 Mayette Avenue in Santa Rosa
  • San Francisco – Wednesday, May 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hotel Whitcomb, 1231 Market Street in San Francisco
  • Marin County – Thursday, May 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Marin Civic Center in San Rafael (exact location to be determined)
